Community Fund

The Club Kids for a Cause Community Fund launched at the February 2024 Winter Tournament at Drake University. Through this fund, individuals will be able to complete an application if they are facing healthcare challenges and would like our support.

Since the organization was co-founded in 2018, we've raised over $50,000 from the tournaments, silent auctions, and goodwill donations. We've been able to donate to a variety of causes ranging from charities furthering treatment and research, individuals facing healthcare challenges, and funds in the name of individuals who have and are currently battling cancer.

By hosting our semi-annual USTA tennis tournaments along with silent auctions, our team wishes to help those in need when they need it the most.

Jennifer Mackey Scholl Fund for Allen Nurse Education

Jennifer Mackey School was a nurse for 22 years on the Younker 8 Floor at UnityPoint Hospital in Des Moines, IA. In 2021, Jennifer was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, and she passed away in April of 2021.

Gary Scholl, Jennifer’s husband, and CKFAC’s tournament operations coordinator, started the Nurse Education Fund in her honor in May 2021. To date, there have been 6 recipients awarded a $1000-$1500 scholarship to continue their nursing education within the pulmonary care department.

In honor of Jennifer's profound commitment to nursing education and her enduring impact on the healthcare community, CKFAC has established the Jennifer Mackey Scholl Fund for Allen Nurse Education. With this fund, CKFAC will continue to make bi-yearly donations to nurse education, providing vital support to individuals pursuing their nursing careers.

Child Life Fund for Blank Children’s Hospital

In August 2023, amidst a battle with lymphoblastic leukemia, Morgan Seashore decided to allocate donations to the gift shop at Blank Children's Hospital. This provided an opportunity for children who typically did not receive gifts during their hospital stays to receive them.

In alignment with Morgan's vision, Club Kids For a Cause has established the Child Life Fund for Blank Children's Hospital. With the creation of the Child Life Fund, CKFAC pledges ongoing support to the Child Life department at Blank Children's Hospital. Through this fund, nurses will have the means to purchase gifts for children who may otherwise go without, ensuring that Morgan Seashore's legacy of kindness and compassion endures.
